VALLEY VIEW, Ohio — A 21-year-old Parma man has died following an overnight crash on I-480 West near the Valley View Bridge.

Sgt. Bridget Matt of the Ohio State Highway Patrol tells 3News that troopers from the Cleveland post responded to the scene around 2:39 a.m. Tuesday upon request for assistance by the Independence Police Department.

Authorities say the initial investigation shows a 2002 GMC Sierra was traveling westbound on I-480 “when it traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking the concrete bridge wall.”

The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the road before striking a concrete jersey barrier.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Matt told 3News in an e-mail. The victim has since been identified as Brian D. Percy Jr.

Sgt. Matt says the crash remains under investigation.

No additional details were immediately available.
