MAYFIELD, Ohio — A portion of Interstate 271 north is open again following hours of delays.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a vehicle caught fire near Wilson Mills Road around 4 p.m., shutting down all local northbound lanes beyond that point. While the express lanes remained open, WKYC.com's tracker showed traffic backed up for about eight miles all the way towards Orange Village, with drivers experiencing delays of roughly a half-hour.
By 7:30 p.m., more than three hours later, all lanes were clear and cars were once again moving as normal. It is unknown at this time if anyone was injured in the incident.
