CLEVELAND — After dealing with freezing rain throughout Northeast Ohio on Tuesday morning, the previously issued Winter Weather Advisory has expired for all of Northeast Ohio.
It was in effect from 12 a.m. until 12 p.m.
“If your surface is treated this morning -- if there’s salt on it -- it’s fine," explained 3News' Senior Meteorologist Matt Wintz during the GO! morning show. "Most of the main roads, the highways, will remain fine throughout the morning."
Even though the advisory has expired, you should still be extra careful as anything untreated -- like side streets, driveways, parking lots, sidewalks and decks -- could be very slippery and icy.
Riverside Local Schools in Painesville said some of their buses were stuck in the icy conditions. The district ultimately decided to close school for the day and the impacted students were transported back home.

Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 30s later today and the precipitation will transition to all rain.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), meanwhile, said they had 1,000 crews working to treat roadways throughout the state as of 3:30 a.m.
