Weather across the nation on October 18, 2018

Conditions will not be as chilly in the Northeast tomorrow, with less wind, sunshine and highs in the 50s and 60s.

The milder air will arrive ahead of a system set to bring nuisance showers to the western and central Great Lakes and Ohio Valley.

Behind the system, a fresh blast of cold air will invade the Upper Midwest before reaching the Northeast this weekend. Much of the Southeast can expect a dry, comfortable day.

Florida will be the main exception, where a few showers and thunderstorms can pop up. Texas will deal with more rain and a continued flood risk, as downpours expand to the north and east into part of the middle Mississippi Valley.

Dry, sunny weather will prevail across the West and into the northern Plains. Record highs will be challenged in the Pacific Northwest.
