Actor Ari Lehman, who was first to portray Jason Voorhees in original 'Friday the 13th,' to meet with fans in Northeast Ohio

HARTVILLE, Ohio — Jason Voorhees of the Friday the 13th film series is among the most notorious horror movie villains of all time -- and the first actor to play the iconic role is making two stops in Northeast Ohio this week.

Ari Lehman, who was the child actor under the makeup during that unforgettable jump-scare finale at Camp Crystal Lake in the original Friday the 13th in 1980, will appear at meet-and-greet events in Medina and Hartville.

First up... Lehman made a stop at Operation Fandom in Medina on Wednesday from 5-7:30 p.m.

Then on Thursday, Lehman will meet with fans at the All Star Sports Gallery in Hartville from 5-8 p.m. Prices at this event are listed as follows:

  • $40 per autograph and selfie
  • $30 each additional autograph

Lehman shared the following message about his visit to Northeast Ohio:

Lehman is also part of a heavy metal band appropriately known as First Jason.

The Jason Voorhees character, who is best-known for wearing a hockey mask, went on to become the focus of multiple sequels throughout the 12 movies within the Friday the 13th franchise.
