Local restaurants compete in Akron Pizza Fest

From sauce, to crust, nine pizzerias from Northeast Ohio are going for the top slice.

AKRON, Ohio — Pizza! Pizza! And, more pizza!!

That's what you can expect at the Akron Pizza Fest held at Lock 3 in Akron today. The fun kicked off on Friday, bringing food, live music and fun for three days.

Nine local pizzerias are participating this year, vying for that "People's Choice" award. The eateries are judged in several different categories, such as: Pepperoni and cheese, specialty pies, plus sauce and crust.

While munching on endless slices, those who attend can enjoy live music from local bands, and play free cornhole, set up throughout Lock 3.

It's a family-friendly event, too! So if you bring those kiddos, make sure to stop by the Kids Zone!

Admission for adults 18 and up is $5. 

Admission for those 13-17 is $2.

Admission for 12 and under is FREE.

And, for students with current college ID, your cost is $3.
