Dahlia Coffee Co. brings spirit of Mexico to Cleveland

Owner, Natalia Alcazar left her corporate job in 2023 to pursue her dream of becoming a coffee roaster.

CLEVELAND — In Mexico, dahlia is the national flower, but here in Cleveland for Natalia Alcazar, the owner of Dahlia Coffee Co., it's a reminder of home.

Alcazar is the sole owner and operator of the Mexican inspired coffee shop on Cleveland's near west side.

Growing up Oregon, where coffee culture is more prominent, Alcazar says she's always had dreams of becoming a roaster. After years of building a career in corporate insurance, Alcazar had grown dissatisfied with her life trajectory and was ready to pursue her true passion--coffee.

Taking action, Alcazar began taking classes to learn the in and outs of the coffee roasting businesses. In early 2023, she made a cross country move to Cleveland and continued learning and building community in her new home.

In Cleveland she was able to connect with organizations, like JumpStart, that helped her develop her business acumen and connected her with peers and resources specifically tailored to Latina businesses.

With the knowledge and support she'd gained in just a short time, Alcazar opened Dahlia Coffee Co. inside of Future Ink Graphics in December 2023. She offers a variety of coffees, teas and baked goods in her shop. The offerings, in addition, to her six single-origin coffee roasts, with the majority being sourced from Central and South America.

Dahlia Coffee Co. is located at 2937 West 25th Street. The shop is open  Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, you can visit their website or social media pages
