UPDATE: 'Very large' Savannah Cat is home, Ohio authorities say

Authorities told the public to not attempt to catch the animal after it was reported missing Wednesday.

SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio — UPDATE: The Savannah Cat has been found and is home, authorities with Sandusky and Erie counties said in social media posts Wednesday.

The Sandusky County Emergency Management Agency is warning the public about a missing Savannah Cat, according to a post from the agency's social media made Wednesday. 

The Savannah Cat is missing near the Crystal Rock/Whites Landing area near the Sandusky and Erie County line. According to the EMA, the cat is "very large", has a medical condition and does not like strangers. 

The public should not attempt to catch the animal. If you see the animal, call the Dog Warden's office at 419-334-2372, the Sandusky County EMA at 419-334-8933 or the Sandusky County Dispatch Center at 419-332-2613 so authorities can contact the animal's owner.
