Lyndhurst police locate suspect vehicle used in fatal shooting of business owner Dailyn Ferguson

Surveillance video has also uncovered three men who were using the car five days before Ferguson was murdered.

LYNDHURST, Ohio — The Lyndhurst Police Department has announced that it has located the suspect vehicle in the case of the murder of the owner of DF Kickz on Mother's Day.

Dailyn Ferguson, 23, was shot at about 6:30 p.m. on May 8 inside his car while parked outside of his store on Mayfield Road. He was hospitalized in critical condition and died several days later.

In a release sent on Thursday, Lyndhurst police reported that they located the suspect vehicle from the shooting, a blue 2008 Volkswagen Jetta with heavily tinted windows on all sides. The car, which did not have license plates on it when found, was reported stolen out of Warrensville Heights on May 1. It was found unoccupied at an apartment complex in the 17500 block of Euclid Avenue in Cleveland. Lyndhurst police detectives and members of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation examined the vehicle for evidence and sent it to the Cuyahoga County Regional Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.

Lyndhurst police discovered that three men were in possession of the car on May 3, just five days before the murder of Ferguson. The trio were at the Steelyard Commons Walmart in Cleveland and were captured on surveillance video that you can see below. Anyone who can positively identify any of the men in the video is asked to call the Lyndhurst Police Department.

Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County announced it is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person or persons responsible for the death of Ferguson. Anyone with information in the murder is asked to contact the Lyndhurst Detective Bureau at 440-442-1234 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
