"Why would they do this? Why?"

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Police in Strongsville are investigating after a woman was reported kidnapped last week, then located the next day.

On August 24 at approximately 11:38 a.m., the Southwest Emergency Dispatch Center received a report of a missing person in Strongsville. The caller, a 30-year-old man, stated that his 59-year-old mother, had been kidnapped from their house on Lake Circle Drive.

In the 911 call to dispatchers, the man stated that he had received a text with a picture of his mother ordering him to come up with $500,000 in three hours or they would kill her.

The caller told the dispatcher that he had no idea who would kidnap his mother. At times, he was crying uncontrollably. "Why would they do this? Why? This is crazy," he said.
