The Wayne County Sheriff's office says, it has arrested a man in connection with the weekend shooting incident that happened at Dragway 42.

The sheriff's office says, Jonathan Paul Roman Perez of Cleveland, who is currently under guard at a hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained during the incident, is charged with Felonious Assault. Deputies say, once he is released he will be taken to the Wayne County Jail.

On Sunday June 13, deputies responded to Dragway 42, which is just north of the village of West Salem in Wayne County. When they arrived, they discovered that several people had been shot in an incident there. 33-year-old Luis Cuevas died during the incident. Three others were also injured.

Over the course of the next several days, investigators received many video clips taken during various times as the incident unfolded. After reviewing those clips, pouring over witness statements and other evidence, investigators reached out to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office and obtained the warrant for Perez.

"I am pleased with the progress we have made with this case but there is more work to be done and the possibility of additional charges as well as defendants, remains. While violent incidents such as this are rare in Wayne County, we approach these investigations with the goal of obtaining the truth" said Sheriff Travis Hutchinson.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
