WATCH: Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, county officials to update public on COVID-19 situation in Cuyahoga County this afternoon

The press conference comes just one day after the city of Cleveland reported its highest two-day total of new coronavirus cases.

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — Editors Note: The above video is from our newscast on Nov. 17, 2020.

Cleveland and Cuyahoga County officials will address the public later this afternoon to provide updates on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic here in Cuyahoga County.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish, as well as city and county health officials will hold their briefing at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. You can watch in the video player above, as well as on our Facebook page

This update comes just one day after the city recorded its highest two-day total for new coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. The city still hasn't reported findings from Sunday, Nov. 15, due to what Jackson called an, "unprecedented surge" in cases, though city officials have said those numbers will be released at a later date.

In addition to today's press conference, Cuyahoga County and the Board of Health will hold another briefing on Friday, in anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday.
