STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — The Heinen's in Strongsville has shut its doors for the second time in less than a week after another employee tested positive for the coronavirus.
The company says the worker was last on the job on Sunday, and his test results were only announced on Wednesday. The market will now be closed for at least the rest of today as it undergoes a deep cleaning, but officials plan to open it back up on Thursday.
"As we continue to face the challenges impacting us all as a result of COVID-19, we pledge to be sensible, respectful and honest with our customers and the communities we serve," the company wrote. "We are keeping our affected associates in our thoughts and will proceed with our enhanced efforts to follow CDC recommended safety and sanitation guidelines."
The location on Royalton Road first shut down on Saturday after a separate employee contracted COVID-19. The facility was also locked to customers for sanitizing, but was back in business by Monday.
"In all of our stores, we will continue to follow our already stringent sanitation practices and have increased the frequency of our cleaning to continue to protect the safety of our customers and associates," co-owners Tom and Jeff Heinen said at the time of the first case.
