Man faces drug charges after Summit County SWAT Team executes search warrant in Springfield Township

Authorities say James Frymyer of Akron was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drugs, tampering with evidence and willful fleeing.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — A 44-year-old man was arrested Thursday on various drug charges after the Summit County Sheriff’s SWAT Team and Detective Bureau executed a search warrant in Springfield Township.

The search warrant was done amid an investigation of a deadly drug overdose that happened back on Jan. 16, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s office.

As a result, authorities say James Frymyer of Akron was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Aggravated possession of drugs
  • Possession of drugs
  • Tampering with evidence
  • Willful fleeing

He was taken to the Summit County Jail where authorities say additional charges are pending based on the outcome of the investigation.
