Autographed Tom Hanks 'Wilson' volleyball to be raffled off benefitting Greater Cleveland Film Commission: Here's how you can win

Ahead of Hanks' appearance at "From Cleveland, For Cleveland" in November, the two-time Oscar winner has donated an autographed 'Wilson' volleyball for a raffle.

CLEVELAND — If you missed out on winning a Tom Hanks-autographed "Wilson" volleyball at the 2022 Cleveland Guardians home opener, you've got another chance.

Ahead of an upcoming appearance in Cleveland, Hanks is donating an autographed replica "Wilson" volleyball inspired by his iconic role in "Cast Away" to benefit the Greater Cleveland Film Commission.

Hanks, a two-time Oscar winner, will appear live onstage at the Capitol Theatre as part of the "From Cleveland, For Cleveland" series, presented by 1st Team Actors Studio, on November 20. Hanks began his acting career with the Great Lakes Theater Festival in Cleveland in the late 1970s.

The raffle is open to the public and participants do not need to be present at the Nov. 20 event in order to win. Purchasing tickets for the raffle does not include entrance to the event.

The "Wilson" volleyball that Hanks autographed for the Guardians home opener went for $6,700.

You can purchase raffle tickets for $10 each or three for $25 online through Eventbrite. There are still a limited number of VIP and general admission tickets available for Tom Hanks’ "From Cleveland, For Cleveland" appearance. Click here for ticket information. You can RSVP for the event on Facebook here.

All raffle ticket sales will benefit the Greater Cleveland Film Commission in its efforts to help attract more movies to be made in Northeast Ohio.

The next "From Cleveland, For Cleveland" event is set for September 25 with director Mark Waters and wife/actress Dina Spybey-Waters. Actor Alan Ruck from the hit HBO show "Succession" and the iconic 1986 film "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" will appear on October 30. Actress Monica Potter will cap off this year's list of guests on December 18. Click here for more.
