Cleveland police: 35-year-old woman arrested following bomb threat at Walmart in Steelyard Commons

Cleveland police located the woman at Walmart and confirmed she did not have a bomb.

CLEVELAND — A woman is in custody after allegedly making a bomb threat on Sunday morning at a Cleveland Walmart. 

Police say the incident happened at around 9 a.m. when they responded to a call for a woman who claimed she had a bomb at the the Walmart on Steelyard Drive. 

Upon learning of the incident, Walmart officials evacuated the store. When officers arrived at the store, they located the woman and confirmed she did not have a bomb. 

Cleveland police had the K-9 unit conduct a precautionary sweep, which confirmed the store was clear. 

Cleveland police told 3News that a 35-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident for inducing panic.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation by the Cleveland Division of Police.
