University Circle announces Wade Oval Wednesday schedule

Summer fun is returning to University Circle

CLEVELAND — Weekly summer fun will soon return to Cleveland's east side when University Circle's "Wade Oval Wednesday" begins in June.

University Circle announced the full schedule and themed entertainment lineups for the weekly event, which is free to the public and offers concerts, movie screenings and food trucks in a family-friendly setting at Wade Oval. Some events will also feature fireworks shows. 

Wade Oval Wednesday begins June 12 and runs every Wednesday through Aug. 21.

The schedule is as follows:

June 12: Councilman Conwell & The Footprints: Motown, R&B

June 19: Blue Lunch: Blues

June 26: Carlos Jones & The P.L.U.S. Band: Reggae; Fireworks following the concert

July 10: BackTraxx: Motown, Disco, Funk; Market Night

July 17: RockNRoll Chorus: A Capella; Movie Night: "Ralph Breaks the Internet"

July 24: Son Gitano: Latin, Salsa

July 31: Tricky Dick & The Cover-Ups: Dance, Covers

August 7: Hubb’s Groove: R&B, Blues, Jazz; Movie Night: "Captain Marvel"

August 14: The Rad Trads: Indie Rock, Americana, Soul; Market Night

August 21: Pieces of Eight: Classic Rock with horns

Wade Oval will also be host to a series of special events, including Market Night July 10 and Aug. 14. The special events are as follows:

June 19:

  • Juneteenth Celebration
  • 50th Anniversary of the burning of the Cuyahoga River

June 26:

  • Fireworks following the concert

July 10:

  • WOW Market Night

July 17:

  • 29th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Movie Night - "Ralph Breaks the Internet"

July 31:

  • Healthy WOW Night
  • Guinness World Record attempt for the most people making giant bubbles with tri-string wands simultaneously

August 7:

  • PNC's Mobile Learning Adventure
  • Cleveland Cavaliers All For Fun Tour
  • Cleveland Indians Hotdog Mascot race around Wade Oval
  • Movie Night - "Captain Marvel"

August 14:

  • WOW Market Night
