CLEVELAND — You may have been hearing about 5G, the next generation of mobile networks. 5G is only in its infancy for the public, but Verizon has launched the technology here in Cleveland.
In fact, the nation's first Innovative Learning Lab was formally unveiled today at Breakthrough Schools E-Prep Cliffs Middle School. It's giving students there, a much brighter future.
Until Verizon stepped in last year and gave students and teachers tablets.. there was virtually no technology here. Kids couldn't compete on the same level with those in suburban and private schools. Now, with the new lab and its state of the art technology, these kids are ahead of the curve.
The lab features two virtual reality stations, 3D printers and much more.It's lab is designed to give kids opportunities, let them learn from those opportunities, then carry that over into high school, college and even a career.

Verizon announced that there will be 100 5G schools by the end of 2021.
