Officials investigating death of Cuyahoga County Jail inmate

Adam Weakly was booked at the Corrections Center on January 12.

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — *Editor's Note: The video in the player above is from a previous report.

Officials are investigating after an inmate died at the Cuyahoga County Jail on Saturday.

According to reports, emergency care was provided to Adam Weakley after he was found unresponsive around 6:38 p.m. on January 15. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. 

Weakly was booked at the Corrections Center on January 12. He was set to face multiple charges in Common Pleas Court including aggravated burglary. 

Following the news of Mr. Weakly's death Cuyahoga County Sheriff  Viland issued the following statement: “The loss of any life is tragic and impacts so many. We offer our deepest condolences to those close to Mr. Weakley. An in-depth investigation has begun, and we will be working with our partners at MetroHealth Medical Center and the County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine what occurred.”

The family of Mr. Weakly has been notified.  No further information is known at this time.
