COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio — A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a woman during a "domestic altercation" in Columbia Station.
The Lorain County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened on Tuesday at around 10:20 a.m. in the 9000 block of Colfax Avenue.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found a 42-year-old woman with serious injuries. She was was taken to Southwest General Hospital by Columbia Township Fire/Rescue. The victim was later flown to MetroHealth in Cleveland for additional care. Officials say that her current condition is unknown.
The Lorain County Sheriff's Office arrested 46-year-old Shawn Poe in connection to the incident and transported him to the Lorain County Correctional Facility.
Poe has been charged with several offenses, including attempted murder, felonious assault, domestic violence and aggravated menacing. Officials say his initial court appearance will be in Elyria Municipal Court.
At this time, the investigation remains ongoing, and no further details have been released.
