LAGRANGE, Ohio — A Lorain County woman is fighting for her life following a car crash Tuesday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the 49-year-old was driving southbound on Indian Hollow Road in LaGrange Township when she went off the right side of the street and struck a culvert near Webster Road around 9:51 a.m. As a result, her Volkswagen Atlas flipped over.
While the woman was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident, authorities say she suffered what are being described as life-threatening injuries. She was taken by ambulance to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center before eventually being airlifted to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Officials have not indicated what may have caused the vehicle to go off the road. The crash remains under investigation.
