Springfield Township Police officials say the incident happened on Sunday, March 5, at around 12 a.m. on Salmon Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, a woman said her ex-boyfriend, who she had a  restraining order against, was inside the home.

When officers attempted to approach the suspect, Vincent Mann, he fired an alleged shot while being barricaded inside the home.

After Mann didn't surrender to negotiations and the use of tear gas, Metro SWAT team members entered the home and arrested him.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Mann is being charged with the following:

  • Improper discharge of a firearm
  • Having a weapon under a disability
