REPORT | Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss being pushed to trade LeBron James

The report by ESPN's Stephen A. Smith continues what's already been a long offseason in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Lakers still don't have a coach after negotiations with Tyronn Lue reportedly broke down on Wednesday.

Now according to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is being 'implored' to trade LeBron James.

James does not have a no-trade clause, so the Lakers can send him away at any time. Smith adds that James has been working behind the scenes to try to recruit Kawhi Leonard to join him in free agency this summer, however with the coaching situation up in the air, no one is sure how things will play out.

The report continues what has been a tumultuous offseason for Lakers. Trouble began prior to the end of the regular season when Magic Johnson abruptly resigned as the team's president of basketball operations.

Los Angeles missed the playoffs for the sixth straight season, but keep in mind that they were 4th in the Western Conference on Christmas Day when James sustained a groin injury that sidelined him for an extensive period of time.
