CLEVELAND — “You Said It" is a reader participation column based on the premise that if you don't laugh about Cleveland sports you'll cry.

And that if you do laugh about Cleveland sports, you might still end up crying. But at least friends and family might occasionally like being around you.

YOU SAID IT

Bud: So the Browns have involved Odell Beckham Jr. in their new uniform reveal and people are saying that means he’s definitely going to be part of the 2020 season. Whew. What a relief. — Dwayne Bowe.

If we can rule out a Joker logo on the sleeve, I’m OK with whatever comes next.

Bud: I once heard former Browns backup QB Gary Danielson say that his job in Cleveland was to tell starting QB Bernie Kosar how great he is.  Was that Drew Stanton's job? — Pat.

No. His job was to tell Baker Mayfield how great he is.

Bud: Did you ever consider a YSI Combine to measure the SPARQ scores of You Said It contributors? — Jim Walsh, Olmsted Falls.

Years of experience tell me this group can’t handle anything more challenging than the three ice cream cone drill.

Bud: In the American League West this upcoming season, is orange the new black and blue? — Jim Corrigan, Fairview Park.

In expectation of pitchers throwing at the Astros in retribution early in the season, hitting leadoff for Houston will be Jose Altuve’s cardboard cutout.

Bud: If the Browns get offered a first-round or second-round pick for Odell Beckham Jr. does anyone think the analytics will say he must be kept in Cleveland because he was involved in the new uniforms? — Tim, C-Town

No one thinks that. Now that Alex Scheiner is gone.

Bud: In 2021, which team will Baker Mayfield be playing for? — O. Bill Stone.

I strongly believe it will be the Browns. But since this is Cleveland we’ve learned nothing can be ruled out including the Sarchione Auto sales team.

Bud: Does Paul DePodesta view Baker as a “Top 20” QB? I hope not. — Vince G., Cincinnati.

Let’s give DePodesta a break for saying he didn’t think Carson Wentz was Top 20. After all, I’ve been told he considers You Said It “Pulitzer material.”

Bud: Whenever people get excited about new Browns uniforms, call me a pessimist but I’m reminded of that saying about “lip stick on a Bullmastiff.” — Bill.

You Said It “winners” are the pick of a bad litter.
