Allison Rose Foundation aims to prevent allergy tragedies

After losing their daughter to an allergic reaction, the Suhy family is looking to provide hope for others

A single food allergy, like peanuts, can turn a family party into a dangerous situation.

The Suhy family in Independence knows this all too well, losing their daughter Ally to an allergic reaction.

Now they're turning their loss into hope for others.

They started the Allison Rose Foundation, dedicated to changing the lives of food allergy families through education, awareness, research and advocacy

The foundation is holding its kick-off event this Saturday at the Embassy Suites on 5800 Rockside Woods Blvd. in Independence starting at 7:00 p.m. Click here to see how you help support the Allison Rose Foundation as an event sponsor.

Our Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins will have more on the Allison Rose Foundation coming up on Channel 3 News on Thursday.

Ally's dad, Mike Suhy, joined Jim Donovan on Wednesday night's Donovan Live. You can watch the interview in the player above.
