GE Lighting flips switch for holiday lights display at Nela Park in East Cleveland; VIDEO, GALLERY

More than half a million lights make up the display, which is now in its 95th year at Nela Park.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — One of the area's most beloved holiday traditions was renewed on Friday evening in East Cleveland. GE Lighting flipped on the switch for its holiday lights display at Nela Park. This is the 95th year that GE Lighting has illuminated a holiday display at its world headquarters.

The display features more than 500,000 LED lights and stretches for several blocks along Noble Road. GE Lighting notes that LED lights last 10 times longer than traditional Christmas lights and save up to 80% in energy savings.

The park will be lit from now through January 6.

This year's theme is "Deck The Halls" and features a series of vignettes that display various ornaments, lighted archways, ribbons and bows. You can also see the Tree of gift packages, snowflakes, greeting cards, candles and decorated trees.

You'll also find a replica of the National Christmas Tree at Nela Park. For the 57th consecutive year, Nela Park has designed and provided the lights for the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C.
