The suspect wanted for the fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian in Walton Hills is now in custody.

The Walton Hills Police Department tells 3News that the suspect vehicle, a black Toyota 4Runner, was located in Parma after an anonymous tip to police there. Officers located the vehicle in a driveway and were able to match some of the broken parts found after the crash to the damaged vehicle.

Police knocked on the door and the suspect driver admitted to being in the area of the incident, going north on Northfield Road near Alexander Road. The driver is now in custody, but his name has not yet been released.

"Walton Hills Police Department would like to thank everyone for sharing our posts regarding the Black Toyota 4 Runner. We have the driver in custody. Without your help we may not have been able to locate him," the department wrote on its Facebook page.

Last Wednesday at around 6:45 p.m., 31-year-old Brandon Foster from Cleveland was leaving work and heading toward a bus stop at the intersection of Northfield and Alexander when he was struck by a driver who didn't stay on scene or bother to call for help. Foster was taken to a nearby hospital, but died from his injuries.

The intersection of Northfield and Alexander Roads in Walton Hills is a tricky area for pedestrians to navigate because there are no sidewalks, even worse on a day when it's raining in the evening.

"I have some big shoes to fill because my brother was a good father," Foster's sister Khadijah told 3News. "He took care of all his children. I'm hurt, I'm hurt and I really want justice, and if you know something, say something so everybody can get some type of closure about this situation."
