Cleveland Police seek information in shooting that left 15-year-old boy dead

A 43-year-old man was also injured in the shooting.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Department is investigation the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy Wednesday. 

Officials responded to the 5300 block of Scovill Avenue for reports of man shot around 8:20 p.m. At the scene, officials were informed by officers with the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority PD that two individuals had been shot.

The 15-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while the second victim, a 43-year-old man was shot in the shoulder. Both victims were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center, where the teen victim was pronounced dead. 

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Officer identified the teen victims at Anthony Hughes Jr.

According to reports, the boy was walking in the area with two other teens, ages 13 and 14, when two cars approached and began firing shots at the group of teens. The two younger teens fled on foot through the complex.

At the same time, the 43-year-old victim and another woman were also walking in the area when shots rang out.
