CLEVELAND — The theme this year for the Tokyo Olympics is “United by Emotion.” During a time when healing is needed the most, the power of unity shines bright for all to see at the Olympic Games.
When it comes to healing, a place that comes to mind is the church.
"I think it's very important to just get back to reality and to bounce back from anything," says Rev. Larry Macon Jr. of Mt. Zion of Oakwood Village. "That's why we've always just tried to make ourselves available, make this place safe, so that everyone could come back to church and make sure that they get the support that they need."
He also said that healing takes work and requires commitment.
"I believe that the power of healing comes from being around other people that inspire you, from being inspired. When you come into this place you actually feel changed, you're able to be free and able to feel some things that can happen in your life."
Once your mind, body and soul are on the same page, coming together for a common goal is a no brainer. No matter if you win the gold or not, we all should share the same goal we’re better together.
