EUCLID, Ohio — The Cleveland Metroparks has a list of the best sunset locations to check out across Northeast Ohio. We found one of our favorites in Euclid at the Euclid Pier and Beach -- Euclid Creek Reservation.
The beach has one of the famous Cleveland script signs, too!
Because of Ohio's varying coastline along Lake Erie, different shores have different times of the year when it is best to watch the sun set over the water, especially right in front of you. It all depends on which direction the shore faces.
EAST OF CLEVELAND
Due to a SW-NE orientation, the timespan to watch the sun set over the water is long, lasting from spring to fall, with peak opportunities during the summer (setting right in front of you).
WEST OF CLEVELAND
Due to a W-E orientation, the timespan to watch the sun set over the water is much shorter. Only in late May thru July can you see hopefully see the sun set over the water. Otherwise it will set over land. (Small variations in the shoreline may impact specific localities.
Euclid Creek Reservation offers so much for the family -- not just beaches! There are fishing piers, docks, and trails to enjoy as well, all just 10-15 minutes east of downtown Cleveland (which can be seen from the beach).
