"Stuff the Bus Kitten Shower" for Lake Humane Society to be held this weekend

Laketran is partnering with the shelter to collect much-needed items.

MENTOR, Ohio — EDITOR'S NOTE: The video in the player above is from a previous story about the Lake Humane Society.

Lake Humane Society and Laketran are partnering to hold a "Stuff the Bus Kitten Shower" on Saturday June 19, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Lake Humane Society at 7564 Tyler Boulevard in Mentor.

This time of year is very busy for the shelter and foster families because there are so many kittens that are in their care. The donations received at Saturday's event will help the foster families as they care for many of the shelter's kittens.

Items that are needed include pate cat food, kitten toys, puppy playpens (also used for kittens!), KMR liquid milk replacer, KMR powder milk replacer, digital kitchen scales, airtight cereal containers, Purina One Healthy Kitten dry food and microwave gel heating pads.

Several kittens will be available for adoption at the kitten shower on Saturday. All adoptions are on a first come, first approved, best fit for the adopter basis. Kitten adoption fees are $120 and cardboard cat carriers are $5. All kittens have been spayed or neutered, have received their initial deworming, microchipped, veterinary examinations, first vaccinations and Feline Leukemia/FIV Combo tests.

Visitors on Saturday can check out the Laketran bus and tour the humane society's shelter. Special Lake Humane Society merchandise will be available for purchase including select t-shirts on sale for as low as $5.
