The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday, July 5, in the 7500 block of Kinsman Avenue.
According to officials, the incident occurred at approximately 6:34 p.m. when police and EMS were called to the scene for reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, EMS found a 39-year-old man bleeding from his chest. Officials attempted to provide life-saving measures and the man was taken to UH, where he was later pronounced deceased.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim was shot while attempting to duck for cover from two cars that were shooting at each other.
A person of interest has not been identified in this incident and anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call the Cleveland Division of Police at (216) 623-1234.
The matter remains under investigation.
