Man killed in weekend Cleveland shooting identified

CLEVELAND — A 42-year-old man from North Ridgeville has died following a weekend shooting in the 4300 block of Friendly Court in Cleveland.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office released the victim’s identity Monday as Piankhi H. Bruce.

Cleveland police say it was around 8:10 p.m. Friday when officers received a “ShotSpotter” alert on Friendly Court.

Upon their arrival at the scene, police say they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Cleveland EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

“Preliminary information suggests that the victim was outside of this location when a group of males arrived,” according to Cleveland police. “A verbal altercation ensued, leading to shots being fired at the victim.”

The Cleveland Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

No additional details have been released.
