It isn't your typical snow day announcement from Springfield Local Schools.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — As a kid, snow days are always one of the most exciting things you can experience during the winter. But a Summit County superintendent drummed up a very creative -- and funny -- way to deliver the news to kids that the district was canceling school on Tuesday.

Superintendent Chuck Sincere posted the unconventional school closing message to students Monday night on the district's YouTube page.

Channeling Elvis Presley, Superintendent Sincere recorded audio of himself singing a classic song, with a twist. He changed up the lyrics of "Burning Love" to better fit the snowy weather that hit Northeast Ohio on Monday.

Superintendent Sincere sang, "Lord Almighty, I hear the snow is a-risin'. Higher and higher, there's just too much snow," to the tune of 'Burning Love.' He even ended with a, "Thank you. Thank you very much," in his best Elvis Presley impression.

As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, the audio had been listened to 623 times on Springfield's YouTube page.

The Springfield Local School District covers Springfield Township and the village of Lakemore, which are both just southeast of Akron in Summit County. The district has around 2,200 students in total.
